Why Dog and Cat are Enemies

  • The feud between cats and dogs has always been well-known, and this is the classical origin of this feud from Chinese fairy tales
  • A man and his wife had a golden ring that ensured they have enough to get by in life
    • The couple didn't know about this and ended up selling the ring
    • After selling it, they continually became poorer
  • The couple had a cat and dog who had a meeting to figure out what to do to help their owners
    • The dog says the cat should get a mouse and get the mouse to chew through the chest the ring was kept in
  • The cat caught a mouse and the two travelled to the house with the chest and ring
    • There was a river that they had to cross on the way there and the way back, with the cat riding on the dog's back because it couldn't swim
  • On their way back to their owners, the cat carried the ring in its mouth and when they encountered houses, the cat went over and the dog went around
    • So, the cat arrived home first and was praised by the owners and when the dog arrived home later, he was beaten and scolded by its owners since he had not helped get the ring
    • The cat looked on without saying a word
  • So, the dog was angry with the cat and when he saw her, he would chase her and try to seize her

      The Salamander and the Reed           Once, a young little salamander was taking a meander around the pond it lived at. The salamander's mom had warned the little one to be careful on their journey, and be on the lookout for any predators. The walk was hardly enjoyable, with the salamander swinging their head continuously to keep an eye out for danger. There! The young salamander saw something moving amongst the grass and dived into a nearby puddle, a predator surely on their tail. The salamander spent the whole day in hiding, while the rest of the salamanders watched a reed sway peacefully in the breeze. Enjoy a puppy! (Because apparently, my blog won't let me upload my pic of a baby salamander) The Salamander and the Reed (condensed)     Their mother had warned and so the salamander was on their toes.
